I can manage the mile conversion for the final figure in my head: a nice 999 miles.

The petrol cost us $ (MXP) 7/ litre which is £0.35/litre
Our Ford Ranger averaged 9 km/litre or 26 miles/ gallon.
The total petrol cost was $ (MXP) 1,250 or £62.
We paid $ (MXP) 681 or £33.55 in cuotas (tolls), 64% of which was on the day 2 drive from Rio Blanco to Palenque.
How's that? The petrol price is probably a third of the UK price. It is cheap because Mexico produces petrol, but also because the government subsidises it.
